Favorites Friday ~ A Few of My Favorite Things!

Happy Friday night friends!
I totally intended for this post to go up earlier today, but I was struggling. Struggling with my topic choice for Fridays. What I planned just didn’t feel right. No matter how much I tried to convince myself. So I wrote and deleted, and wrote some more, and deleted some more. And changed my direction. And then changed it again. Before I knew it, the day was over.
That Brett guy had a happy hour for work that we were going to attend, so I gave up and figured the break would do my mind some good.
And here I am at 11pm, sitting down to actually write this post! So….it’s going to be short and sweet!
For starters, I’ve decided that my Friday topics are going to be about all of my favorite things! I even updated my blog post from the other day, where I shared my ideas for planned out topics for certain days of the week, to help keep me focused and on task.

To begin with, one of my favorite things ever – is guacamole! Yes, you read that right! And why am I sharing something so many people already know about, and know how to make? Because the Super Bowl is coming up in 2 days, and I wanted to show a fun way to serve up some yummy guacamole on game night, using my favorite cutting board from Ikea.  Also, while we still add Roma tomatoes, onion, cilantro, and fresh squeezed lime juice to our guacamole –  our favorite pre-made mix of all time is the Frontera Original Guacamole Mix and we always use it. It’s so good!!
Next….
My brand NEW favorite items are the Mrs. Meyers line of cleaners, that I just received after signing up with Grove Collaberative. You can use this link to order with my referral code, and you can get $10 off your first order!  (btw, this is not a paid sponsorship, and I did not receive anything as compensation to share my opinion) As you can see, I also got the walnut scrubbers, some wool dryer balls so I can finally stop using chemical filled dryer sheets, and a grey & white striped dish towel.
Anyhow, I’m in love with these products!
And my question is, why did I wait so long?
Why didn’t I believe what everyone else was saying about Mrs. Meyers products, and how good it left their homes smelling after they cleaned with them?
I chose the lemon verbena scent for most of the items I got. I used the multi-surface everyday cleaner first, for my kitchen sink and counters, and my house smelled absolutely amazing just from that alone! It was such a fresh, light scent – no chemical smell at all.  I can’t wait to clean even more ~ I would have been a cleaning nut all day today after that experience, but my sweet little granddaughter was here for the day, and this Mimi will choose playing with her over cleaning any day of the week. Ha!

Not shown are 2 Method brand Shower Spray refills that I also ordered from Grove Co. I’ve been using this shower spray for 3 years and the Ylang Ylang scent is heaven to me, and is a perfect scent for a bathroom to have, in my opinion. Obviously this product falls into my favorites list! I always purchased it at Lowes, but a few months ago they stopped carrying the refill bottles, so I was really happy to see that Grove Co. carried it, and for less cost!

And last, but certainly not least, if you don’t already follow me on Instagram or you haven’t read my earlier blog posts, let me introduce you to 2 of my most FAVORITE people!
My almost 3 year old grandson, Dominic, and my 7 month old granddaughter, Abigail
These 2 melt my heart. Our oldest child and her husband are parents to Dominic and they live in CA, but only for 1 more year – then they’re moving here and building a house right down the street from us! You can only imagine how excited I am about that!! Dominic got to go to Monster Jam a couple of weeks ago and he loved it so much!  (hence the ear muffs) He is the smartest, most imaginative little boy ever, especially in this day and age! It’s so fun now that he can actually ask to FaceTime Mimi & Pawpaw and have real conversations with us. He’s growing up so fast!
Miss Abby is the daughter of our 2nd oldest child and his wife and they live here very near us, and as I’ve mentioned I get to babysit her part time, 4-5 days a week. I’m having so much fun watching her learn so many new things lately ~ clapping, trying to crawl, learning to drink from a big girl cup, and trying new foods! The most recent was giving her a thick slice of green bell pepper to chew & bite on and she LOVED it – just like our grandson did at the same age. She’s sure following in his footsteps with her love of fresh vegetables!
Oh how they make this Mimi smile!
